Danaë Huijser is director and lead consultant of Culture & Management Consulting in Europe. She is Mijnd Huijser’s daughter, who is the founder of CMC and developer of the Model of Freedom.
Danaë was born in the south of France in 1982. Her family moved to the Netherlands in 1990. Coming to the Netherlands was her first culture shock: “As much as I fought my parents for moving then, my life was shaped by it in a very positive way. I don’t think I would be doing what I am doing now if they had not introduced me to the intercultural world at that age, for which I am very grateful.”
Being raised bilingual, she knew that her home was not limited by national borders: “I expanded my experience with as much travel as I could. This included a one year exchange in the USA, short student exchanges with Ukraine and Romania, an internship on the Antilles and volunteer work in Portugal and Brazil. Throughout this time, while learning new languages, meeting new people, tasting new foods and discovering new music, I grew up.”
Her international background led Danaë to study Organisational Psychology and International Business. She eventually pursued a career in her father’s cross-cultural consulting company, Culture & Management Consulting, as a marketing manager in 2006, a partner since 2007 and the owner of the European CMC office in 2010.
Danaë is passionate about developing people and organisations in an international environment.
She advises individuals, teams and organisations on how to capitalise on diversity to enhance cooperation, improving innovative potential.
She is an engaged coach, consultant and speaker, and facilitates the Model of Freedom Accreditation Programmes.
